Shark Survivor

Adelaide shark survivor, facing brain damage and organ failure, the amazing comeback of Chris Blowes

Is it possible to think of something more horrifying than to be attacked by a great white shark in a remote surfing spot? The chances of survival are pretty well zero but that's the experience of young Adelaide man Chris Blowes.

Equally scary was the decision of his mates to go to his aid.

By the time his mates managed to get Chris Blowes to the ambulance he was clinically dead. The blood loss from having his leg taken by the shark was potentially fatal.

His life hung in the balance while the paramedics worked feverishly to keep him functioning until they made it to the Port Lincoln hospital.

Chris is now trying to raise money to pay for his prosthetic leg.
