CHANNEL SEVEN PERTH HAS MASSIVE WIN IN 2006 AND IS THE HIGHEST RATING STATION IN AUSTRALIA

Seven Perth finished the 2006 official survey year a massive 6.1 share points ahead of second placed Nine and also takes the mantle of the highest rating television station in Australia - (all capital cities).

In Perth Seven won 38 out of 40 weeks and finished 6.1 points ahead of Nine and 7.2 points ahead of Ten. Seven also easily won the key 25-54 audience demographic, 4.8 points ahead of Ten and 6.1 points ahead of third placed Nine.

Seven News and Today Tonight had double the audiences of Nine News and A Current Affair.

This achievement is even more impressive considering that there were two weeks of Commonwealth Games telecast on Nine and no AFL games were telecast on Seven (with local teams West Coast Eagles winning the premiership and Fremantle Dockers finishing third on the ladder).

It was Seven's consistently strong performance in News and Today Tonight, very strong entertainment line-up and local community involvement that combined for this outstanding strong win.
