7.30pm - Saturday December 10

Since its inception in 1972 the RAC CHANNEL SEVEN CHRISTMAS PAGEANT has become a much anticipated annual event for all Western Australian families and visitors alike. It is widely regarded as one of the finest parades in the southern hemisphere. And this year it's going to be bigger than ever with 7 brand new floats! New attractions to look out for at this year's Pageant include Aladdin, Active Ted, Billboard, Hawaiian Scene, Humpty Dumpty, Rudolph and Family, and our major sponsor RAC's Space Rescue.

Lead by the City Of Perth Band, the event will feature approximately 14 bands, 40 floats and wheel sets, multi-cultural groups, clowns, camels, dogs, fairies, dancing groups and a cast of 2,500. The floats feature over 100,000 lights, the length of the parade is 2.2 kilometres and a voluntary team of 150 including marshals, street announcers, first aid and SES make sure that the parade runs smoothly.

Father Christmas and his Reindeer will be sparkling more than ever this year since Santa's Elves have spruced up the float to look simply fabulous when it graces the city streets. Watch out for the yet-to-be announced Cinderella and Prince Charming and your old favourites such as Fat Cat and his 15 fiddlers and new band the Chameleon Brass Band. We also welcome along new groups representing Western Australia's diverse multicultural community.

This year's Pageant can be seen on Channel Seven 6.30pm Sunday December 11 and again on Christmas Day. Check your local TV guide for replay times.
