Channel Seven today confirmed CHRIS REASON and LISA WILKINSON will co-host its new Sunday morning program, Weekend Sunrise starting Sunday, April 10 at 8am.

Replacing Sunday Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise will capitalise on Seven's leading weekly Sunrise format providing weekend audiences with the right mix of news, current affairs, comment and entertainment.

“I think we'll find an audience which is looking for an alternative on Sunday mornings,” says executive producer Adam Boland.

“It's an audience looking for more than just political interviews. They want news, they want views, and they want a laugh or two. They want the complete package.”

Chris Reason, former Sunday Sunrise host and one of Seven's most experienced journalists says he's looking forward to expanding his role on Sunday mornings – and sharing the chair with new co-host Lisa Wilkinson and newsman Simon Reeve.

“It was an absolute pleasure meeting Lisa for the first time and then working through the pilot shows with her. She's one of the warmest, most vibrant people I've met in the industry. She has an outstanding record in the publishing industry and brings something special to Weekend Sunrise.”

“Like all new programs, this one will be a challenge. But there's an opportunity here to create something new on a Sunday morning.”

Wilkinson – magazine editor, broadcaster and mother of three - extends her role with the Sunrise team having appeared on the weekly program as a regular contributor.

“After being a part of the wonderful Sunrise team as a contributor for almost two years now, I'm thrilled to be joining Chris in taking such a successful format into the weekend.”

“Hopefully, viewers will make it as much a part of their Sunday morning as tea, toast and the papers in beds,” said Wilkinson on her new role with the program.

**The premiere edition of Weekend Sunrise (SUNDAY, APRIL 10 AT 8-9AM) will feature an EXCLUSIVE interview with Jane Carter, speaking for the first time about her son Aaron's night with Michael Jackson at Neverland Ranch. Also, continuing coverage of the Royal Wedding celebrations of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. **
