A SPECIAL SEVEN NEWS EVENT

In an exclusive 1 hour special at 12 noon tomorrow, Susannah Carr, Rick Ardon and Mark Gibson will pay tribute to the WA Olympic athletes who have made us proud in Athens.

This live Olympic broadcast direct from Forrest Chase will invite Perth to officially welcome home and celebrate our state's Olympic medalists. With 37 Athletes and 8 Officials as guests of honour it will be a moment in time for WA to celebrate our sporting heroes.

It has been Australia's most successful games with 17 Gold, 16 Silver and 16 Bronze medals won.

Cyclist Ryan Bayley made history when he became the first WA Olympian to win two individual gold medals at the same games. Another cyclist Peter Dawson was part of Australia's successful teams pursuit Gold medal effort. Although Peter didn't ride in the final he was awarded a Gold medal for being a member of the successful team in the qualifying rounds. Hockey Gold went to Bevan George as part of our all conquering Kookaburras.

John Steffensen won Silver as part of our 4 x 400 metres relay team. Silver medals went to swimmers Antony Matkovich and Todd Pearson – members of our successful freestyle relay teams. In rowing Silver medals were won by Ben Cureton and Glen Loftus – half of the Men's Lightweight Coxless Four.

Bronze went to Stuart Reside and Stefan Szczurowski in the men's eight. And Bronze to Amber Bradley and Rebecca Sattin in the Woman's Quad
